Police Beat
Two men were stabbed and another had his jaw broken following a Feb. 6 bar melee, police said.
The fight broke out at 4:25 am after the Stratus Bar & Grill, 861 Atlantic Avenue, closed and erupted outside in front of 12 Vanderbilt Avenue.
In all, five people were assaulted with the most serious injured being a 28-year-old man who was stabbed once in the groin and once in the lower abdomen. A 20-year-old man was stabbed in the right chest and left arm.
All the injured were taken to local hospitals and are expected to recover.
Eleven people were arrested for weapons possession on Feb. 4 following the execution of a search warrant at 573 Bergen Street in which two guns were found, police said.
Also recovered at the scene were controlled substances, marijuana and packaging materials.
At press time, it was unclear if any of the perpetrators were also facing illegal drug charges.
A knife-wielding man was arrested on Feb. 5 following a verbal dispute that led to an assault of a 38-year-old man, police said.
The dispute erupted at about 11 pm inside of 1447 Pacific Street and the perpetrator started choking the victim before grabbing a knife and cutting him on the hand.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested on Feb. 4 after robbing another 14-year-old of his “UGG” boots, police said.
The thug forced the victim into an elevator at 8:30 am inside 1191 Park Place and then threatened to kill him if he didn’t hand over the boots.
A perpetrator left empty-handed on Feb. 2 after the victim’s scream made him drop the wallet he robbed and ran.
The 32-year-old woman victim was buying a MetroCard at the subway on Washington Avenue and Eastern Parkway at 11:40 am when the perpetrator grabbed her from behind and took her wallet.
A 31-year-old woman had her 1990 Nissan swiped on Feb. 2, police said.
The victim parked her car in front of 577 Saint Marks Avenue and discovered it missing at 9:30 pm.
Armed robbery foiled
Two storeowners of a bodega struck a would-be robber, on Feb. 2, causing him to flee empty-handed, police said.
The perpetrator entered the bodega at 404 Marcus Garvey Blvd, at about 5:30 pm, and displaying a black handgun, demanded money.
When he reached over the counter, the two storeowners attacked him and he fled.
A woman walking southbound on Nostrand Avenue near Greene Avenue on Feb 6 had her purse snatched, police said.
The woman was walking at 5 am, when two unidentified males approached her from behind and grabbed the bag off her shoulder before fleeing on foot.
A 34-year-old suspect was under arrest after allegedly trying to take a GPS from the Radio Shack at 1232 Fulton Street, police said.
The alleged suspect came into the shop at 3:15 pm, on Feb. 6 and pummeled a store employee in attempting to remove the GPS.
Police arrested and made the collar.
Three of the thefts were on the 800 block of Bedford Avenue.
The other theft occurred in front of 30 Spencer Avenue.
In three of the cases the air bags were taken from Hondas. In the other incident, it was taken from a Chrysler.
81 Man shot following dispute
A 20-year-old man was shot in the arm on Feb. 1 after trying to intervene in a family dispute, police said.
The victim was shot at about 3:45 pm after coming to the rescue of his girlfriend, who had an altercation with her nephew.
A one-alarm fire broke out on Feb. 7 at 64 MacDougal Street causing 14 minor injuries, police said. One source said the fire was accidental and not deemed suspicious.
Impounded car stolen
A brazen thief stole a 1996 Mazda confiscated by precinct cops on Feb. 2.
Police said the car was impounded and left at the Classon Avenue stationhouse between DeKalb and Lafayette Avenues on Jan. 29 after the owner was arrested on a minor charge. A few hours later, the car was reported stolen from the stationhouse.
Rash of car break-insSeveral car break-ins were reported. This includes:
– A car parked on the northeast corner of Willoughby and Waverly Avenues on Feb. 1. The theft occurred sometime after 10 pm. The thief broke the driver’s side window and escaped with a wallet.
– A car was broken into in front of 254 Lafayette Avenue on Feb.3 The incident was reported at 1:10 pm. The thief broke the passenger rear window and escaped with a wallet including credit cards and $350 in Police are on the lookout for brazen thieves who broke into four cars on Feb. 4 and Feb. 5 and took the air bags.

The man was walking shortly after midnight when two perpetrators stopped him with one holding the knife. The two punks then robbed the man of his iPhone and $750 in cash before fleeing.
The victim was approached by the punks at 5:45 pm on the northeast corner of Fulton Street and Rockwell Place.
Caught in the act
A would-be thief was caught on red-handed, Feb. 5 trying to burglarize a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherok
ee, police said. Police responded to a crime in progress at 1:15 am in front of 36 Adelphi Street.
Upon arrival, they collared the perpetrator in the car with a wrench and screwdriver on him. The driver’s side window had been shattered.
