Our Griots, Scribes, Artists

Published on

On Saturday, October 8, 2022, Black Photographers Collective (BPC) held their Second Annual Photographers Celebration Bash on 110th Street in the Harlem section of Central Park as a follow-up to their first bash, held in 2019, just before the Covid-19 pandemic. This event included: an exhibition of outstanding photography sponsored by BPC, good food, and heartfelt comradery, with friends and family members also celebrating the great recorders of our images, our experiences, and our truth. (Note from the Editor: A list of photographers present at The Bash is being compiled and will be presented later this season in Our Time Press. Griot Eyes references a 1999 exhibit of photojournalists’ works curated by OTP editors at a Brooklyn gallery.)
