VP Harris Delivers Keynote at NAN Convention Tomorrow, Friday, April 14

Vice President Kamala Harris keynotes the 32nd National Action Network Convention (April 12-15) hosted by NAN founder and chief The Rev. Al Sharpton, tomorrow, April 14, at the Sheraton Hotel (811-7th Avenue,) in midtown Manhattan. The conference theme is: “Dealing with the Dream Under Threat”. Vice President Harris will speak to Civil Rights, Voting Rights, Reproductive Rights and fighting hate crimes.
“We are gathering to galvanize our fight to protect democracy, so, I’m excited to hear the remarks the Vice President will deliver,” said Sharpton in an announcement from NAN, one of the largest Civil Rights organizations in the nation.
In 2021, Vice President Harris keynoted NAN’s 30th Anniversary Triumph Awards in New York City. Earlier this year, the Vice President appeared alongside Rev. Sharpton at the funeral of Tyre Nichols.

Her schedule leading up to this week has been a whirlwind of travels abroad, speeches, and meetings. Within the last 10 days, the Vice President has visited Ghana, Tanzania and Zambia. She also made a surprise stop in Nashville, earlier this month, to support the Tennessee Three — Rep. Justin Jones (D), Rep. Justin Pearson (D) and Gloria Johnson (D) – who were expelled by the Republican-led Tennessee House after they joined a gun control protest. The representatives all survived the effort to banish them.)
“This will be a significant moment in a significant year as we work together not only to advance civil rights but preserve those that we fought (for) in the first place,” Sharpton added.
The Convention also is featuring remarks by the Mothers of the Movement; leaders of the Black church, entertainment icons, business titans, and more.
