    9am – 3p:  the 45th WIADC JUNIOR PARADE assembles at 8am and starts at St. John’s Place and Kingston Ave., and goes west along St. Johns Place to Franklin Ave., south on Franklin Ave. to President St.; west on President St. to Washington Ave. and Brooklyn Museum Grounds.  $2 admission; children under 5 free.

    Sun., Sept. 2nd
    The Dimanche Gras show comes to the Brooklyn Museum stage – starring Calypso Rose, Shadow, King Ajamu, Black Stalin, Something Positive Dance Troupe, steel pan performers and more on the Brooklyn Museum stage.

    Noon –6pm: MoCADA presents The Soul of Brooklyn Block Party on Franklin Ave., bet Park Pl. and Lincoln Pl. to celebrate Caribbean Culture, the core purpose of the 45th Annual West Indian-American Carnival Association’s Labor Day Festivities, where their Kiddie Carnival Parade will come marching through.

    6pm: Extended gallery cariBBeing presents Portraits of CARNIVAL, an exhibition curated by Shelley V. Worrell. Portraits of CARNIVAL features the photography of well-known Caribbean photographers Ruddy Roye (Jamaica) and Ray Llanos (St. Croix). The exhibition also highlights the world-famous NYC West Indian-American Day Carnival Parade with archival content such as journals and vintage photographs from Mas camps.
