    Got Him!

Finally, Donald Trump is facing the music of the justice system.  After being subjected to this dreadful man for the last seven years, to see some comeuppance for the stress and damage he’s done to the country, we say, “Thank you, DA Alvin Bragg!”

It was such a pleasure seeing him in the defendant’s chair, sandwiched between lawyers with four court officers behind him, just as they would be with anyone accused of multiple felonies. This is just the first shot, and it’s wounded him.  Now DA Fani Willis in Georgia and Special Counsel Jack Smith can hit him again and bring him down.  He can still win the Republican nomination, and his supporters will still be with him, which is good.  They’ll have a chance to see again what a low opinion the majority of Americans have of their hero, a lying, cheating, would-be dictator.  Then they can take their anger and wash it down with a warm beer as they deserve.

But let’s not get cocky.  He’s still a dangerous man with dangerous true believers who will break any law or norm to get him back in power.  The country’s next problem will be to ensure he and his ilk are banished from public office by going to the polls and voting as militantly as his followers do.  It’s the only chance we have to put the nation back on track to bend the moral arc of the universe toward justice.  It does not happen naturally.  We have to work at it everyday and focus on every election.
