Tuesday Presidential Debate May Determine who will “Rescue” America

OTP Views on Trump’s New “Save America” book’s bio brief

    By Bernice Elizabeth Green
A week ahead of the September 10 face-off between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump in their first Presidential debate, Trump has released a new book, Save America.
As with most of Mr. Trump’s strategies and tactics, the objective is to win by raising money.

The debate, beginning at 9:00pm, ET, will take place in Philadelphia at the National Constitutional Center, and it will be moderated by “World News Tonight” anchor and managing editor David Muir with ABC News Live “Prime” anchor Linsey Davis.
If the debate reflects the tone of the race thus far, there will be no need for the question to be raised, who or what should America be saved from.

But before moving to order the book from Amazon or purchasing through your local bookstore, please note that the price is nearly – as reported by Associated Press, Tuesday, Sept. 3, nearly $100.

In addition, its title comes from a PAC (Political Action Committee), established by Trump in November 2020 – the same month he lost the election to President Joseph Biden. With its timely release, the book appears to be an effort to help Mr. Trump save himself.

Trump’s Save America, called a Leadership PAC, has $200 million dollars to fund items such as travel and audio-visual services “that cannot be covered by campaign committees or congressional offices,” according to OpenSecrets.org, a non-partisan research group.
“Leadership PACs are designed for two things: to make money and to make friends, both of which are crucial to ambitious politicians looking to advance their careers,” says OpenSecrets.org.

The debate could serve as a promotional boost for the book, helping the Republican candidate take in millions more for hefty legal fees.
The book was not available to Our Time Press, as of yesterday, but the author-bio summary was published on Amazon’s website. Alert here: We understand that any mention of the book will drive our readers to the site – and perhaps result in some sales however we decided our “local view” of what we were able to see should not be hidden from public reading.

For transparency, we admit Our Time Press’ local perspectives are shaped from our personal African American cultural experience played out daily under the great umbrella of the Diaspora.

Mr. Trump will get the chance to speak for himself at this coming Tuesday’s potential ratings-buster debate with the Democrat’s contender. But the bio brief, as written, offers insight into a mindset that may be on full view, Tuesday.
The first line — pregnant with superlatives – “sums up” his assessment of his achievements in the Oval Office for the 2016-2020 term in this way: a launcher and dethroner.

The Amazon bio-brief of Trump’s “Save America” brief opens with “DONALD J. TRUMP launched the Most Extraordinary Political Movement in History, dethroning Political Dynasties, defeating the Washington Establishment, and becoming the first True Outsider elected as President of the United States.”
Trump extols his “accomplishments” and declares his position as an ‘Outsider Leader of the free world.”

What we are getting is most of America’s “outsider” leaders have “inside” compassion for what American can be, and a desire for the nation to live up to what it says it is. You can define those “outsiders” as stationed outside the periphery – and not in alignment with — a status quo that harms, maligns, nor looks down on.

From our perspective, great “outsiders” include The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali, Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, the Black Panthers and a list of Black Americans that represented greatness in America when they lived. Can Trump understand that any modern-day semblance of what is great about America can be linked to their presence in it?

The difference between Trump’s declarative and the Black leader’s life examples? America’s Civil Rights Movement was shaped by a belief in justice and a more equitable America for ALL. It was shaped by King and individuals before him whose beliefs were rooted in The Power of “The Our.” Not the power of “me”.

Their insider understanding of the promise of doctrines willed by America’s Forefathers resulted in global Movements emulated and heralded throughout the world. To this day.
The Black Panther Party of the 1960’s dropped the “self-defense” tag in its original name to concentrate on their eponymous community breakfast programs.

The Free Breakfast for School Children in the 1960’s and 1970’s could be considered on par, in scope, with President Franklin Roosevelt’s WPA effort to lift the nation out of poverty. The Black Panther outsiders intended to lift a nation of underfed school kids … of all races …
Up from hunger into better health. It fed thousands of America’s hungry schoolkids, arguably, of all races.
The “outsider” group’s programs were the precursors of free breakfast programs today and exist to this day.

The 10-point program was based on principles written into the Constitution by 18th century American revolutionists, also outsiders.
The descriptive written for Trump for Save America does not show that he fulfills the requirements of one who can “save America” or cares to. The second line describes a monarchist who does not seem to realize who comprises America. It also discounts all 44 U.S. presidents that came before him. The line reads (that under Trump’s four-year term), The Forgotten Men and Women of America were forgotten no more, because the U.S.A finally had a President who PUT AMERICA FIRST!

Through his Pro-American Policies on Trade, Taxes, Energy, Regulation, Immigration, and Healthcare, President Trump ushered in a period of Unprecedented Economic Growth, Job Creation, Soaring Wages, and Booming Incomes. Median Household Income reached the Highest Level EVER Recorded.

The rest of Amazon’s about-Trump’s curricula vitae of accomplishments appears as a uncontrolled gushing: he led the world in reducing carbon emissions, he is a “steward” of “our natural resources;” and he ended “the past era of scandal.”

There’s no mention of Trump being at the nucleus of one of this year’s most talked about crimes – a scandal that conveyed upon him status as the penultimate “outsider” title as a convicted felon, 34 counts. (Today, he admitted his role in Election interference after months of denying it.)

The last line notes how he unleashed American Energy, revitalized American patriotism and restored the American spirit.
The waterfall of Trump “accomplishments” for America concludes with the promise: THE BEST IS YET TO COME!
    Truth, Dare, Consequences, or Repeat?

This Tuesday’s Harris-Trump Presidential debate provides the answer while topping the record-breaking scores of last-month’s Democratic National Convention’s and at the same time forecasting a winner six and a half weeks before Election Night, Tuesday, November 5, 2025 at 12:00 midnight.
